Yes, we would love to go back to those sweet days. We try to discover the child in us every time we look at our child. Those sweet heavenly memories get refreshed taking us back on a tour to a beautiful world; a world full of new creations, freedom, beauty all around and the warmth of loved ones, known or unknown.

Yes, we would like to re-read the book of Nursery Rhymes.

The Green Crown

The Challenge: Open the book you are reading right now (or a favourite if you aren’t reading anything, oh, and shame on you!), turn to page 33 (or 33% on e-readers) and write a super flash fiction about the first proper noun (person, place or thing) on the page!

One of our favourite book is “501 Must Visit Destinations”. We opened page 33 and the first proper noun we came across is Jozani Park.

The Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park is a 50 km2 (19 sq mi) national park of Tanzania located on the island of Zanzibar. It is the only national park in Zanzibar. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jozani_Chwaka_Bay_National_Park). it is the largest park of mature native forest remaining on the island following years of deforestation. The park offers a refuge for many types of mammals and nearly 200 species of birds.

Here is a super-short tale on Jozani Park. We thought of naming it “The Green Crown”.

When we think everything’s okay and everything’s going right;

Life has a funny way of helping us out.

When we think everything’s gone wrong and everything blows up!

It’s like ten thousand spoons when all we need is a knife;

It’s like rain on our wedding day;

It’s a free ride when we’ve already paid;

It’s the good advice that we just didn’t take.”

The difference between a good day and a bad day is our attitude,

When everything’s okay and everything’s going right,

When everything’s gone wrong and everything blows up,

All we need to do is show our gratitude!

No, it’s not ironic, we don’t think;

It’s just a tonic, we believe.

Life is a comic that tells us- “Be economic”

What figures is the society of individuals with logic!

Secret Admirer!

The Secret

We return home to discover a huge flower bouquet waiting for us, no card attached. Who is it from — and why did they send it to us?

The question is, was the flower bouquet waiting for us at the doorstep?

Secret Admirers? Oh Well!

We would love to be admired openly.

Secrecy carries a whole lot of questions and doubts in mind. What if the huge bouquet has a bomb! What if it sprays dirt! Is it from some secret lover of my spouse? Definitely secret admiration will carry some amount of jealousy. Who knows even enmity? Why allow us to fall prey to bewilderment? Why bother? Just let it go!

Flowers are best admired in the garden, in the open, blooming with fresh air.

And if someone admires us,  we will accept it, reciprocating even more of  admiration and respect to the admirer, but; it has to be directly on us. No mockery please!

If the bouquet is at home, then it is a sweet surprise and the secret would soon be revealed by the admirer! 🙂

Just a matter of choice!

Choose

Do not curse the darkness,

Light a candle.

When something is tasteless,

Add sugar.

If silence kills you,

Play the music, sing a song.

If loneliness hurts you,

Give your company to someone who is lonely.

Do not want to cry?

Laugh!

Do not want to laugh?

Shed your tears!

If anger bothers you,

Stay calm.

If you want peace,

Spread happiness.

Want to be loved?

Do not hate.

If you do not like something,

Do what you like.

Live and let live!

Do not blame. Do not complain.

Because it is just a matter of your choice! 🙂

Breathe Free

Freedom

We all are witnessing or may be victims to different forms of terror attacks. These are traumatic state of affairs. According to Oxford Dictionary, ‘terrorism’ means the use of violent action in order to achieve political aims or to force a government to act.

Terrorism is spreading like forest fire throughout the world leaving behind multitude of questions before the government, the political leaders, the judicial system and the common man. While we wait despairingly for some immediate action from higher authorities, sooner or later we realize that terror has struck the world all over again! We usually charge the inefficiency of the Government or the police. This in any case does not solve the problem of terror attacks. It is indisputably the obligation of every responsible citizen to create a fearless atmosphere and safeguard the fundamental rights of every citizen. A patriotic sentiment and the urge to spread eternal peace is the urgent need to avoid such tearful hours.

Terrorism cannot be wiped out overnight but it can be averted through a gradual course of intended actions. It is not the sole responsibility of the government to have effective checks on the peace and security of the nation rather every citizen must endeavour to disrupt and ward off further attacks. Not surprisingly, terrorists are not bizarre people but one among the ordinary masses. No one is born as a terrorist. What then makes someone a terrorist? As individuals we need to take a back seat and think over the cause of these deadly acts. We could not find any other cause other than ‘the aggressive mind’ and ‘the corrupt mind’. Cutting the branches of a tree will not allow it to die. Cut the roots and the tree will die.

 Arrest the aggressive mind

Behind every terror is some hidden aggressiveness of the terrorists. What is more alarming is that youths play an important part in this terror stage. It is high time we arrest the aggressive minds of young people. Now the question is, how? On one hand, what is required is a transparent education system that would produce civilised and refined youth. The responsibility of the education system is to prepare the youth to face the hard realities of life and teach them to be responsible human beings. On the other hand, every youth of today must also strive towards self-development that includes not just theoretical knowledge and skill development for problem solving but the greatest bid lies in overall character development. 

We thrive to ‘earn more’ rather than ‘learn more’. So far such ideas continue to fill the minds of the young people it will be a difficult job to produce responsible, sincere, honest and patriotic citizens. Love for position, money and success leaves one with the thrust to earn more, to which there is definitely no end. The craving for ‘more’ unbolts the knob to unethical practices that ultimately destroys one’s self esteem. The rising expectations give shelter to disappointment, hatred, insecurity and eventually corruption and violence that result in terrorism.

 Combat the corrupt mind

Corruption takes hostage the mind of any individual. Needless to say, we all are corrupt in some form or the other. What differs is the degree of corruption! We fail to reveal our own acts. The corruption bug is multiplying and leading the march towards a fraudulent national environment.  By taking a pledge to adopt ethical ways of working we will definitely be able to shoo away this mucky bug from the environment. Is it so difficult?

The vision of spreading peace throughout the nation is only possible through honest, sincere and collective efforts by ‘all’ and the ‘youth’ in particular who are our future leaders, civil servants, security personnel, lawyers, doctors, engineers, teachers, businessmen, and media persons. To win universal recognition and admiration it is necessary to maintain ethical standards and produce progressive human resources that can be transformed into an effective and robust administration where values outshine profits.

It was just last month (July 2014) that we began our journey with WordPress. And so far we have had a wonderful journey and we will definitely keep taking wonderful rides with our fellow bloggers. The ride through the depths of nature, through the intense feelings of happiness and sorrow of fellow bloggers, through the ups and downs we faced here, learning how to operate the many features of WordPress, all were marvellous and exciting. We initiated and WordPress kept us moving! We are just like the thin line of road visible in huge mountains. The mountain is the vast world and the thin line represent the niche we have struggled to create for ourselves in this world. 

Thank You ‘The Daily Post’ for the innumerable fascinating, out of the box topics on ‘Daily Prompts’ http://dailypost.wordpress.com/dp_prompt/ and the untiring efforts of the whole team to help us develop our writing skill. Though we missed out many, we particularly enjoyed scratching our head on some of them. It was difficult because we felt they were not mere topics but ‘topics with a difference’!

We started our journey with ‘The Daily Post’ with ‘Back to Life’, https://siapositive.wordpress.com/2014/07/30/back-to-life/.

The most recent one ‘A Bookish Choice’ https://siapositive.wordpress.com/2014/08/12/no-thank-you-literary-witch/ was the best one so far, where we discovered some hidden aspects that we, as writers,  need to reflect on certain issues instead of plainly jotting down words here and there. 

‘Second Opinion’ https://siapositive.wordpress.com/2014/08/10/no-second-opinion/ also helped us bring out to the limelight, the ‘Real We’. It was a remarkable post to discover some truths about us (the human soul).

Not to forget, ‘Not Lemonade’ https://siapositive.wordpress.com/2014/08/09/taste-the-lemons/ was just right to put forward our perspective towards life! 

WordPress is a great place to learn and meet new people with varied background and thought process. It is a tremendous platform to keep wandering around trying to look for the ultimate truth of our existence. We have tried to make our expressions just simple and excellent (Perfection is God’s business) to reach out to millions who look forward to new dimensions to lead a fruitful life. 

We write for self satisfaction. Writing is our passion. We write to capture our memorable thoughts and crazy ideas passing by our mind. We write because we feel the emotions. We indeed look for appreciation because we are humans and we are here because the world exists. The white star with orange background do excite us just like any of our fellow bloggers! But even if not appreciated we tend to write more with extended zest and zeal. Because this is what keeps us moving! And WordPress never disappoints its audience.

We take this opportunity to thank WordPress for this wonderful and persistent effort to help us express and share our thoughts and reach out to millions of diverse and unique audience. We take this opportunity to thank all our readers and visitors. If you have enjoyed the ride with us so far, it is our honour. We have as much enjoyed the ride with you, your unique ways of presentations, your unique pictures and your unique perspectives.

And for those who have not enjoyed the ride with us, we take it as a challenge! There can not be everything about someone that we do not like. There can not be everything about everyone that we like. But there are certain things about all that we may like. So thank you all! 🙂

No Thank You, Literary Witch.

Keep writing and spread the message of hard work and sincerity.
Keep writing and spread the message of hard work, honesty and sincerity.

 A literary- minded witch gives us a choice: with the flick of the wand. We can become either an obscure novelist whose work will be admired and studied by a select few for decades, or a popular paperback author whose books give pleasure to millions.

We choose NONE! No MAGIC! No short-cuts! No greed! Though literary-minded, the witch will definitely have some form of evil in mind. Absolutely discarded! If writers begin to spread EVIL, where would this world head to? Words have the power to transform a world. We do not need any evil magic wand to gain admiration or popularity. What we desire is a beautiful world abundant with love, peace and harmony.

Whatever we are/will be writing would be the words coming directly from our heart, the hidden truths which we have been trying to explore and understand, and share with millions of people.

Sorry to disappoint you literary witch. 🙂

The New Rising- 2024!

The new rising

We wake up tomorrow and realise we are ten years older than the previous night.

My spouse and I have always imagined growing old together.  Wordpress’s “Daily prompt” has given us this opportunity today to allow our thoughts to flow out in black and white and make our imagination more concrete. Ten years from now all we can imagine and hope for both of us, is a life full of love ten times more.

Ten years is not very old for us though. Probably, with modern day wrinkle-free cosmetics, physical look could easily be managed and wrinkles could be hidden behind the layer of cosmetics applied. What would change are our life plans with this development. No more a parental attitude. Rather displaying a friendly attitude for the development of a balanced life of the hero of our life. Our immediate plan would be to make sure we take every step with added zeal and zest, with a positive attitude, driving together through the harsh realities of life.

Not much a shock, because we are already eagerly waiting for that day, when we could feel as proud parents of a nineteen year old youth-a grown up responsible young boy eager to furnish his life with his independent thoughts.  How lucky, our child has crossed a difficult phase in his life! We believe dealing with a teenager is the most challenging task for parents. This would be a blessing in disguise for us, more than a shock.

This period will also bring with it succession of good and bad experiences. But what could be better than living ten years in sleep! Living ten years of our life in our dreams. A development indeed! A great relaxation indeed! 🙂
