Contrasting Colours

 Colour Wheel…

Yes, we all are aware of this colour wheel. When two colours from different segments (warm and cool segments) of the color wheel are paired, we get what is called contrasting colors. When placed next to each other, they create a strong feeling of strength and a special bond of comfort and support. For example, red is from the warm half of the color wheel and green is from the cool half.

The basic contrasting colours are:

  • Red and Green
  • Yellow and Violet (Purple)
  • Blue and Orange

The photographs below exhibit this ‘contrasting colours’. Have a look! 🙂
