Depth of Life

Mountain n river- Bageshwar

 Dark is the absence of light,

Hate is the absence of love,

Death is the absence of life.

Rules and laws are made by us,

Situations change but rules never change!

Is it fair enough?

We punish the wrong and reward the right,

With the hope that wrong never prevail;

How far is this right?

If the world has changed,

Why do we still talk of change!

If we all are sinners, then who are we to judge?

We are not prisoners;

We do not need rules to live,

Then why can’t we take a risk,

And think positive!

Arrest hatred, arrest the furious mind,

Punish jealousy and greed,

Leave the negative behind.

Right or wrong, good or bad,

Are we not aware?

Feel the depth of life, far and wide;

Let peace prevail worldwide.

The Irony

Think Simple

This post is in response to Weekly Writing Challenge: Ice, Water, Steam.

The Challenge: For this week’s writing challenge, take on the theme of H2O. Just like water is still water, whether it’s solid, liquid, or gaseous, you are still yourself, whether you’re in the middle of a career change or identity shift. Hey, even dying your hair pink is just a different variation of you.

Whether we are rich or poor, we are what we think. Simple living is not what matters, simple thinking does.

“Simple living and high thinking” is a common adage we have been living with, right from our childhood. It is simple to understand, isn’t it? Live a simple life with the basic needs, have high aims in life and be happy.

What we perceived then and what we perceive now transmit vibes that are poles apart.

The irony: Everything is in the mind. The higher we think, the higher our hopes and expectations, and higher soars our greed. This ultimately lands one into a pit full of competition, jealousy and revenge. Over the years, experience explained, what actually matters is ‘think simple’.

So…

Simplicity is in the mind, not lifestyle,

Generosity is a quality divine;

Live your dreams, you have a lifetime;

Be human, spread the sunshine.

Good or bad is in the heart,

Show gratitude for what you’re bestowed;

How you live is a work of art;

Clean the soul for a heavenly abode.

Rich or poor, is in the mind,

If you are alive, you’ve to strive;

Think simple and just be kind,

If you’ve money, help others to survive.

Is it convincing?

It’s our dreams we try to connect!

Simple living and high thinking,

Does it make a man perfect?

JUST ONE MOMENT

This post is part of The Daily Post: Two Right Feet

What are the things you need to do within 30 minutes of waking up to ensure your day gets off on the right foot? What happened the last time you didn’t do one of these things?

IMG_4535

30 minutes or 15 minutes,

Will make no difference;

Wake up feeling good,

The day will give you preference.

Open your eyes, wear that smile,

Thank the Lord for keeping you alive;

Left foot or right, never worry!

Go slow and steady, do not hurry.

Wake up happy, it’s another new day;

Do not hesitate to make a demand,

And the genie will say,

“Your wish is my command”.

If daily routines make you sick,

Relax, let time play the trick;

Discover the hidden treasure,

The ‘feel good’ moment will give you real pleasure.

Life

A beautiful landscape
A view of Bhimtal taken from Bhowali, in Uttarakhand, India.

Nothing stays forever,

Even emotions disappear;

Family and friends are close to the heart,

Hold them tight before they depart;

Achievement and success give short-term pleasure,

Beautiful memories are all we must treasure.

Nothing stays forever,

Enjoy the journey, do not regret later;

Money and wealth, are the materials we hold,

The moments we live, are actually gold;

Count your blessings, thank the Power Supreme,

Live the life you always dream.

The Argument

DSC_4532

When there is disagreement or difference of opinion, there is controversy; and because there is controversy, change persists. We have seen childhood, youth and adulthood. And now we are experiencing parenthood. Just as our life cycle has been through different phases, so have our thoughts. Here are few of the cases, what we were taught to believe when we were young. What we were taught was not wrong; but they are not right either. At least, this is what we believe today. Our views on the same issues have undergone drastic changes. For good or bad, if you ask; we would say, its not the last! We still have miles to go before we sleep. 🙂

So, here are those issues, that we agree to disagree.

We were taught: Always keep good company.  A man is known by the company he keeps.

We believe: No company is good or bad. A man becomes what he thinks and believes.

We were taught: Read good books and learn from them. They will be your best friends.

We believe: Books are expressions of great people. Read the minds of great people and express what you feel before your life ends.

We were taught: Never tell a lie, it’s a punishable sin.

We believe: Your intentions matter. Just keep your soul clean.

We were taught: Obey your elders, they know better than you.

We believe: Age is just a number. Follow the wise, even if younger than you.

We were taught: Man is a social being. Follow the rules to lead a smooth life.

We believe: Society is for us, we are not for society. Get out of the comfort zone before you die.

We were taught: Smile a lot and at many people as you meet.

We believe: Smile may be fake. Let your eyes speak as you greet.

We were taught: Never talk to strangers. You never know.

We believe: Learn to believe and trust; the good will always flow.

These were some cases, which we were taught to believe at some point in our life. Today, as knowledgeable persons we try to defend the opposite. And let us tell you, it feels great! It feels like a great development as a human being, as a learner and as a creator of our own destiny and world. Today, we dare to dream and experience reality.

We have seen the good and the bad, and we believe, there is always something good about the bad and something bad about the good. So, the ball is always in your court!

Towards Harmony

Sia Positive

This is the Cover Photo of our newly created page in Facebook- “Sia Positive”. You can also find the Link in the widgets on the right of this page. Take a look! We won’t disappoint you for sure! Let our journey begin with you! 🙂

Facebook Page “Sia Positive” is a new Initiative towards Harmony- discover the blend of Physical, Emotional, Intellectual, Spiritual and Laughter; all in one platform- 🙂

Over the years we’ve almost reached a level, where we have learned to live in a state of harmony with the universe. Both our head and heart work together to create a unique and well-balanced “us”.

We have always been ardent enthusiasts and  the energetic and fun-loving quality in us has assisted us to face the acute realities of life. We are impulsive, free-flowing and exciting and try to keep track of everything. We are spontaneous and never say no to any adventure. Often, we may end up surprising and even shocking people. But that’s just how we are!!

We always remain true and keep hunting for the truth. If something interests us, we will not rest until we have acquired a profound knowledge of that area.

When faced with a problem or a tough decision, we try to break things down and make a sensible choice. We have trained our heart such that we follow our gut when necessary. Though planning and discipline exist in our dictionary, there are instances when we love to throw in a little spontaneity.

An impulsive, but balanced  outlook and approach to life creates the desire in us to not only understand the world, but to also mold it as we see fit. We have come to learn that our life becomes what we make out of it; and this has helped us in our endeavor to understand life from so many wonderful perspectives.

Join us, while we take you on a journey to Harmony- an excellent blend of Physical, Emotional, Intellectual, Spiritual (not religious) and Laughter.

Skill of Living

Art of living

There are instances in life when we start questioning our existence; when nothing goes right and we feel left behind. These are times when we wish to be the master (or mistress) of some skill in this world; so that we can move on smoothly and live our life with contentment.

The skill that we would pick is: Skill of Living. We choose this skill because mastering the Skill of Living will act as a stimulus and show us the way to be the master in all other skills.

Here are few examples that we think, represent the Skill of Living. There is a negative though that may push us down, followed by a positive thought that will pull us up again.

“I’ve wasted my time”

“Every moment wasted has taught me to climb”

“I’m not intelligent, confident and smart”

“Never compare, get recharged and restart”

“There are people bad and good”

“Look at me, it’s something i misunderstood”

“You pulled me down, I’m hurt”

“I know my worth, I’m beautiful from my heart”

“I’m depressed, lonely and sad”

“These moments make me strong, I’m glad”

“Don’t do this, don’t do that”

“Take a risk, just go ahead”

“Time waits for no one”

“Remove the battery and it’s done”

“I’m negative, discontent and do not know how to chill”

“I know the Skill of Living, I’m the master of this skill !”

A Long Drive

IMG_0928

How much is too much?

Is a question the mind asked;

Competition, expectation and position;

Are all that makes everything  a bit too much!

He is the best, she is the best;

But we need to be better than the rest!

Take it easy, do not strive too hard,

Fast! Learn the art of working smart!

Success, fame or wealth comes later,

A happy journey is all that matter;

Breathe free, go for a long drive;

Let the heart and soul feel alive!

Walk to Remember

This photograph was taken during our trek at Lonar Crater, India.

“Follow us, but we may not lead you;

Lead us, but we may not follow you;

Walk beside us, you’ll always find us with you.”

The Rescue

IMG_0966

I’m not a star in the sky,

But you made me a star in your eye;

With you, I’ll never cry,

And brighten your life till i die.

This blog is a reflection of three souls. The third, a very cute and blessed contributor has his own role to play in keeping the blog rolling in this virtual world. As for the other two, they rescued each other from difficult situations. This post is about this rescue.

Yes, they rescued each other from the dangerous grip of loneliness. They dared to dream together. They dared to tie the knot for a conjugal life. This rescue landed them in a whole new world where they experienced the birth of Life.

As the common adage goes: two is always a company, however independent we wish to be. Just like the organs of our body: two eyes, two ears, two nostrils, two hands, two legs, two lips; even the heart and brain which is not visible has two parts: left and right; human beings are incomplete alone.

And so, we rescued each other. 🙂
