Let’s Play

A Word A Week Photo Challenge: Play

How i wish i could play and play,

And never have to go away;

Here and there, jump all my way,

With my toys i wish to stay.

Math, Science, History and Geography,

Forgive me, my heart loves Photography;

Mom and Dad, I wish to explore,

Oh! Please let me lose sight of the shore.

Round and round, i wish to fly,

Like a bird in the sky;

Earth is such a beautiful place,

Please set me free, I love to have my space.

I learned to walk holding your hand,

Now I’m grown up, please be my friend;

Play with me, I’d love to say,

I’ll make you feel young day by day.

Who is Great?

IMG_0079

What’s the use of having a mind if it can’t change?

Young or old, big or small, there’s nothing strange!

Open the arms, breathe deep, feel the air come in,

Our destiny is in our hand, let’s play it!

To hold on or to give up, just don’t bother;

We’re not alone, we all move together!

Sunrise or sunset, appreciate the beauty,

Don’t compare, it’s the Sun’s duty!

Let’s do our duty come what may;

Thank the Lord, it’s another new day!

Q. 1 What was the last time you went to a new place?

Answer.

A place need not be necessarily new;

We could find something new in old places too!

This is what we generally do,

Explore and discover the new,

And feel delighted to share it with you!

Q. 2 If you were or are a writer do you prefer writing short stories, poems or novels, other?  And what type of genre would you prefer?

Answer.

We know how to write,

Yes, we are writers;

Short stories, poems or novels;

We’d like to share our experience,

In the simplest way possible.

Q. 3. Out of your five senses (touch, taste, sight, smell, hearing) which is your favorite?

Answer.

One is incomplete without the other!

We see everything around us,

Develop a sense of taste for what we see,

Bitter, salty, sour or sweet,

A touch of words make it lively;

We love to hear from you without measure,

The smell of your presence gives us immense pleasure.

Q. 4 If 100 people your age were chosen at random, how many do you think you’d find leading a more satisfying life than yours?

Answer.

Our life is our own,

Yes, we are satisfied;

Their journey is unknown,

Is our answer justified? 🙂

Proud of Me

In response to The Daily Post: Proud

IMG_0150

I may be small, but I stand tall,

Without me, the beauty would fall;

This is how I’m made,

No matter if others hate;

I’m here for a reason,

Earth is my home, not a prison;

 I can stand against the wind and the rain,

Even if I fall, I can rise again;

I’m food for the honey bee;

No regrets, I’m proud of me.

Yes! Thanks!

The Daily Post: No,Thanks? Is there a place in the world you never want to visit? Where, and why not?

Why talk about what we don’t wish to do?

Let’s talk about what we wish to do,

And where we wish to go!

Let us allow good to flourish,

Think positive and cherish;

Let us dream good and feel good.

Everything happens for a reason,

Let us embrace every season;

Heaven or Hell is part of literature,

It’s alright to not know all answers,

Life is a gift of countless mixture.

Size Relationships

This is in response to The Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge: Scale. No matter what the size, it’s all about relativity. A skyscraper looks tiny in relation to the vast sky; the sky visible to us is tiny in relation to the universe! Appreciate everything despite the size. Enjoy!

Breaking the Law

In response to The Daily Post: Breaking the Law. This photograph was taken in 2009, when our son was three years old. He was experimenting with talcum powder, which for him was snow! 🙂

IMG_1179

Had there been no rule or law,

We’d have looked at this world with awe;

There’s so much to learn and grow,

We wish to go steady and slow.

Many a times we broke the law;

Never worried who saw;

It’s our life, we’ve to live,

We make mistakes, God forgive.

We’re happy, never regret,

What we did, we wished to get;

Our motto: Break any law in a lifespan,

But never forget  to be human.

Mural- The Ajanta Caves

We probably would not have thought about sharing these photographs, had we not come across the Challenge: A Word a Week Photograph Challenge-Mural hosted by suellewellyn.

Last year 2014, we were blessed with the opportunity to visit a historical place- Aurangabad. This place is well known for the world famous Ajanta and Ellora Caves. Below we share few photographs of Ajanta Caves- excavated in horse-shoe shape and the finest surviving example of Indian art particularly paintings. This group of caves dates back to the pre-Christian era and is inscribed by the UNESCO as a World Heritage Monument in the year 1983. There are a total of 30 caves, but the exemplary painting could be noticed only in caves 1, 2, 16 and 17. This is a place worth visiting!

Enjoy as you surrender yourself to the past. 🙂

Group of caves as seen from the opposite end.

The ceilings are painted with geometrical, floral and faunal depictions that create an impression of a decorative shamiyana held above. The painting contains some of the finest circle designs drawn in contrasting colors, which still retain their brightness and lustre. The walls are painted with countless figures of Lord Buddha with illustrations of the former births of Lord Buddha known as Jatakas. The caves contain some of the masterpieces of the world of painting Padmapani and Vajrapani.
