Proud of Me

I may be small, but I stand tall,

Without me, the beauty would fall;

This is how I’m made,

No matter if others hate;

I’m here for a reason,

Earth is my home, not a prison;

 I can stand against the wind and the rain,

Even if I fall, I can rise again;

I’m food for the honey bee;

No regrets, I’m proud of me.

The Flower Band

DSC_4392

Few months back, we visited a Nursery to purchase some plants for our small but sweet garden. While we were looking around, this flower just happened to catch our attention. This amazingly beautiful flower looked somewhat like a ‘Rakhi’. For those who are not aware, Rakhi is a band tied by sisters on the wrist of their brothers on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

We were utterly amazed to see a real Rakhi! As told to us by the florist, the local name of this flower is “Rakhi Bail”.

We found this to be the perfect picture for Jennifer Nicholewells’ One word photo challenge: Indigo.

ONE WORD PHOTO CHALLENGE: PERSIMMON

The color PERSIMMON ranges from light yellow-orange to dark red-orange. Here is a collection of some of our photographs that we think would best fit Jennifer Nicholewells One Word Photo Challenge: Persimmon

Secret Admirer!

The Secret

We return home to discover a huge flower bouquet waiting for us, no card attached. Who is it from — and why did they send it to us?

The question is, was the flower bouquet waiting for us at the doorstep?

Secret Admirers? Oh Well!

We would love to be admired openly.

Secrecy carries a whole lot of questions and doubts in mind. What if the huge bouquet has a bomb! What if it sprays dirt! Is it from some secret lover of my spouse? Definitely secret admiration will carry some amount of jealousy. Who knows even enmity? Why allow us to fall prey to bewilderment? Why bother? Just let it go!

Flowers are best admired in the garden, in the open, blooming with fresh air.

And if someone admires us,  we will accept it, reciprocating even more of  admiration and respect to the admirer, but; it has to be directly on us. No mockery please!

If the bouquet is at home, then it is a sweet surprise and the secret would soon be revealed by the admirer! 🙂

Nature’s Unmatched Texture

The Green Flower.
The Green Flower.

Layers of green petals arranged beautifully and consistently one on top of the other, as if trying to hold, cover and protect the pistil from the external environment.

This picture was taken in the garden of Tourist Rest House of (KMVN) Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nagam in Ranikhet, India. The exact name of this flower is not known to us. It was for the first time we had seen a green flower with hard petals. So we decided to name it the Green Flower. Not sure if it is a cactus of any form because the climate of Ranikhet is pleasant with sunshine, rainfall, and snow in winters.
