Just 10 percent!

This is not true,

We need no clue;

The brain seems to burst,

Periodic breaks become a must!

Without the heart, our brain is blind,

Take some rest;

Let the soul also shine;

10 percent of the brain is just a myth,

Be happy, we use 100 percent of it!

2015 Week 4:

Q. 1 Where did you live at age five?  Is it the same place or town you live now?

None other than parents we did surrender.

Now is the time to look around; go ahead and take that stride;

Near or far, to follow our dreams, we plan to travel worldwide.

Q. 2 You are invited to a party that will be attended by many fascinating people you never met.  Would you attend this party if you were to go by yourself?

Answer.

If we are Invited to a party of fascinating people we would never go to that party. Rather we would prefer meeting those people alone. 🙂

Q. 3 Did you grow up in a small or big town? Did you like it?

Answer.

Growing up is part of learning, we admit it!

Small town or big, we lived our life and we liked it!

Answer.  One that fits no one! That, which can be used as a show piece for decoration at home. Why? We don’t wish to get soiled, but admired and handled with love and care. We don’t wish to get replaced in the long run. 😀

Note: We are passionate travelers though, but would never wish to be used by anyone so. 🙂

Q. 3 What’s the story behind a time when you got locked out?

Answer. Locked out? Not a big deal. Break the lock! 🙂

Q. 4 Do you prefer eating foods with nuts or no nuts?

Answer. Not old enough to dislike nuts. 😀

Q. 5 Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Answer. Oxygen and Carbon dioxide for our survival so that we can exist in WordPress.  🙂

Listen to that Voice

Food for Thought:

When’s the last time you followed your instinct despite not being sure it was the right thing to do? Did it end up being the right call?

Gut Feeling
This photograph was taken in the awesome Ajanta Caves, Maharashtra, India.

Thanks to WordPress for selecting our topic of discussion on Gut Feeling for the Daily Post. Glad to be a featured blogger in Daily Prompt. 🙂

While we were trying to recall the last time we followed our instinct, what provoked us was: if its our instinct, we have to be sure about it. If we are not sure about our action, it will definitely not be the right call. And our post follows…

It is a difficult task to differentiate between intuition (instinct or gut feeling) and thinking. There is a very thin line of distinction between the two. While Intuition is the ability to understand something immediately, without the need for conscious reasoning; thinking is the process of using one’s mind to consider or reason about something and arrive at rational judgement.

Following our intuition is like that shooting star. Just like a shooting star passes by leaving no traces behind; our intuition is our conscience, that inner feeling or inner voice viewed as acting as a guide to the rightness or wrongness of one’s behavior giving us a glimpse of what should or should not be done. What we have observed from our life experiences; intuition never goes wrong! At least it did not go wrong with us, so far we could identify between that instinct and our thought. What we believe is, after following that instinct if things went wrong or did not materialize; then we probably missed our intuition and what was guiding us was our calculative mind.

We have encountered many instances when we followed that first voice from within, in any tricky situation. However several times we have even tried chasing that voice in vain because we never knew when it crossed by! What happened several times again is, when we ignored that first voice and tried to reason out the things, everything went wrong. After something went wrong, we regret not following that first voice.

To a great extent we have tried to master the art of catching the first voice. What we learnt is, the mind needs to be calm; and self belief, positive thinking and faith are the guiding factors to catch hold of that instinct.

Many of our posts created here in WordPress are the results of following our instinct, including the current one. 🙂

The ECCENTRIC DUO

Food for thought: We all have that one eccentric relative who always says and does the strangest things. In your family, who’s that person, and what is it that earned him/her that reputation?

It’s US! 🙂

DSC_4529

We’ve been wondering how to display our eccentric side out here in WordPress. And here we are expressing the eccentric side of us once again. As usual, thanks to WordPress Daily Prompt  for this opportunity.

Yes, in our family and also among our friends, we believe ‘we’ are the one eccentric relative or friend who always says and does the strangest things. Now, what was it that earned us this reputation will be unveiled as you let your eyes capture every word and allow your mind to crack the code. If you are one among those who have read our past posts with enthusiasm and with an open mind, you’ve almost got us, and surprisingly, you become another eccentric person! Boggled? Never mind.

It has been quite sometime since we came up with a post to crack the truth. We were away for a while. It was like loving someone or something dearly when they are new and then just take it for granted (as is always thought about). When we first started blogging, WordPress was our first love. It still is, (not taken for granted) because this is the place where we can be stupid, behave crazy, be who we are and just let go the things that bother us. Yes, we get the opportunity to express our eccentric side. Interestingly, we are eccentric not only among our family and friends but among millions of other users of this site.

Let us state it this way. How many of you thought ‘yourself’ as that one eccentric person you know, and write about for this post? We did! Isn’t this a reason for eccentricity? The truth is we hardly get the time to think what others are thinking because we are lost in our own weird thoughts, trying to crack the code of truth; truth about life, truth about truth itself!

What we believe as humans is: we have a tendency to rule over others. And the moment we see others trying to follow a new track, we start thinking others are behaving strangely. This is because we do not let our thoughts go beyond that limit we have set for ourselves. We want others to see what we see, hear what we hear and do what we do. But, if the mind is set free, it can cross many horizons we have probably never imagined. The mind is a mystery.

Now, ‘we’ are among those who believe in living our dreams and living the life we dream instead of dreaming of living ‘our life’.

We can sail through this draft, pointing out the many reasons why our family and friends think we are eccentric. But do we really need to do that? We feel the one reason we pointed out above is sufficient for your understanding. And to know more about our strange thoughts and ideas, keep track of our posts! 😉

No Second Opinion

What are some (or one) of the things about which you usually don’t trust your own judgment, and need someone’s else’s confirmation?

Take time to think and follow your own decisions. Much better, if we can be intuitive.

Why take a second opinion? Do we really need one? What if the second opinion turns out to be against our judgment or decision? This would make our mind go topsy –turvy. Once we miss on the (hidden) first opinion, which in fact is the voice of our conscience (that silently cross our mind), we will then not confine ourselves with a second opinion but a dozen other opinions unless we have had enough who will agree with our own. The more support we get, the better!

While approaching for a second opinion we try to convince the second party to agree to the decision we had already taken or the presumptions we have made and try to influence them through our thoughts. Those who are wise will confirm and those who are not will give their own opinion and judgments, unaware that it is a waste of time because it will not be followed in any case. When we go for a second opinion we look  for supporters and not advisers!

For instance, we look for second opinion here in this blog itself. The more “likes” and “positive comments” we get, the better, because we get  followers who agree to our thoughts. But what if no one likes the post? If someone does not agree to them, it is fine. Perspectives differ! If we need advice we’ll look for one but, allow others to manipulate our decision through a second opinion? No way! WordPress itself has given the provision for approving these second opinions! 🙂

Just enjoyed this conversation cited by another blogger!

A typical conversation….Me: “Hey, which is better the red or the blue?”

Companion : “The red, definitely the red”

Me: OK… but I like the blue one on me.. I think I ‘ll take that !

Companion: Duh!

So it is better to stick to our own judgments and not waste time. The more we learn to trust our own decisions, the lesser time we waste and the wiser we become.
