Floating Beauty

Weekly Photo Challenge:Afloat

We share below a collection of photographs from our album that shows what afloat means to us. Enjoy! 🙂

1. The Floating City: Starting with an unusual way of expressing it; the floating lights in the night sky is the Queen of Hills, Mussorie as viewed from Dehradun.

2. Floating Fire: Ever heard or seen floating fire? These “Diya’s” (a small cup shaped oil lamp) as seen in a Buddhist Monastery.

Beauty and Blur

Weekly Photo Challenge: Blur IMG_2136

Quite often, images that are not taken intentionally can also produce beautiful effects. This photograph was taken with the purpose of a blurred background. But the absence of light on the focused image somehow created a completely blurred photograph which we found very much suitable for the current challenge. 🙂

Ultimate Reward

Weekly Photo Challenge: Reward

…and we are back! On a funny note, our blog looks prehistoric after a long gap of two weeks. However, WordPress never disappoints its bloggers. So, here we are back again with our crazy and thoughtful delights for our fellow bloggers. 🙂

triup

Call it a coincidence or a creative expression, without a second thought, we decided to share our Reward with our fellow bloggers. On 17th February, 2015, we set off on an unplanned journey which was infact a dream come true. We experienced snowfall. The most awesome part of our journey was driving through the snowstorm. The memories are relived as we sit to share the wonderful experience with you. Since it was our very first experience, there were mixed feelings of joy, wonder and fear. Somehow, we managed to take few snaps.

So, here it is! Enjoy the journey as much as we enjoyed it. 🙂

Snowstorms are storms where large amounts of snow fall. Two inches (5 cm) of snow is enough to create serious disruptions to traffic. Key to driving in snowstorm is to avoid using brakes and drive slow. Otherwise the vehicle would skid. Driving through the snowstorm was awesome. Thanks to the Almighty for a safe journey.

The Daily Post: Symmetry

Symmetry comes from a Greek word meaning ‘to measure together’. Love the way these two kids used their left and right brain in symmetry. 🙂

Size Relationships

This is in response to The Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge: Scale. No matter what the size, it’s all about relativity. A skyscraper looks tiny in relation to the vast sky; the sky visible to us is tiny in relation to the universe! Appreciate everything despite the size. Enjoy!

Flare

These concrete structures suddenly flared up! How?

A night view of Dehradun city, India.

There is a story behind this photograph. We were experimenting with our DSLR and tried to take a night view of this amazing place. Unfortunately we did not have a tripod and kept it on a flat surface. The camera adjusted itself producing the effect as seen above. Though it was a mistake we made, we love the effect of this mistake. We just could not delete it! And here we are sharing it with the world. WordPress has taught us, “Never regret, you can learn from everything and anything. and it’s a bet!” 🙂

Below are few more photographs of the sun that we tried to capture. Here a boom, there a boom, every where a boom boom! Enjoy!

Depth of Life

Mountain n river- Bageshwar

Dark is the absence of light,

Hate is the absence of love,

Death is the absence of life.

Rules and laws are made by us,

Situations change but rules never change!

Is it fair enough?

We punish the wrong and reward the right,

With the hope that wrong never prevail;

How far is this right?

If the world has changed,

Why do we still talk of change!

If we all are sinners, then who are we to judge?

We are not prisoners;

We do not need rules to live,

Then why can’t we take a risk,

And think positive!

Arrest hatred, arrest the furious mind,

Punish jealousy and greed,

Leave the negative behind.

Right or wrong, good or bad,

Are we not aware?

Feel the depth of life, far and wide;

Let peace prevail worldwide.

Depth of Field

In this post we share some of our photographs that we think would best fit The Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge: Depth. We have chosen photographs that explains the Depth of Field.

In photography, Depth of Field (DoF) refers to the range of distance that appears acceptably sharp. In some cases, we may have the entire image sharp. In other cases, a small DOF may be more effective, emphasizing the subject while de-emphasizing the foreground and background. In cinematography, a large DOF is often called deep focus, and a small DOF is often called shallow focus.

Warmth of Love

Weekly Photo Challenge- “Warmth”

Here is something nice and cozy for you.

Feel the warmth hidden in the following pictures. 🙂

IMG_1424

 “Hey brother! Wanna play?”

IMG_1425

“It feels so good to be with you.”

IMG_1518

“You are in my arms now. Don’t worry, I’ll play with you and take care of you.”

Children are more logical and practical than adults. They know how to forget. They know how to forgive. They know how to give love and get love. Why is it so difficult for adults to embrace humanity and spread the message of love?
