The Interview

Daily Post: The Interview: Interview your favorite fictional character.

DSC_4532

Sia Positive is a fictional character in WordPress. The thoughts and ideas expressed are unique in some form or the other that try to view the world from a different angle. The reality is that we are never free from fear and negative thoughts. Its not a double standard or dual personality but Sia Positive is indeed the character we try to play everyday.

We bring to you an exclusive interview with Sia Positive. (The questions are selected questions from Share Your World 2015 hosted by Cee’s Photography). Guess this is the first step to knowing the secret to Sia Positve’s glaring personality. 😉

WordPress ShowBiz: Hello Sia Positive! Welcome to WordPress ShowBiz. Thank you for sparing some time from your “Never Busy but Never Idle” schedule. We are very pleased to have you among us today. The blogging world has been waiting for quite a long time for you to reveal the secret of your unique personality.

Sia Positive: Our pleasure. 🙂

WPSB: Did you grow up in a small or big town? Did you like it?

SP: Growing up is part of learning, we admit it!

Small town or big, we lived our life and we liked it!

WPSB:  Where did you live at age five?  Is it the same place or town you live now?

SP: Five is a number so tender; the life of an offender, defender and pretender;

None other than parents we did surrender.

      Now is the time to look around; go ahead and take that stride;

Near or far, to follow our dreams, we plan to travel worldwide.

WPSB: As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

SP: This is simple. An adult!

WPSB: What are you a “natural” at doing?

SP: Dreaming 😀

WPSB: What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word “fun”?

SP: Do whatever you want to do! 🙂

WPSB: Are you a hugger or a non-hugger?

SP: We’re crazy travelers and passionate photographers;

Sorry to say dear bloggers, we’re not huggers. 🙂

WPSB: Do you prefer exercising your mind or your body? How frequently do you do either?

SP: Body and mind are the jewels of mankind; face, heart and soul makes a man refined;

Exercise them daily, very skillfully; they are the five aspects of harmony.

WPSB: If you could wake up tomorrow having gained any one quality or ability, what would it be?

SP: Ability to wake up every morning with quality of our choice! 😀

WPSB: If you were a shoe, what kind would you be and why?

SP: One that fits no one! That, which can be used as a show piece for decoration at home. Why? We don’t wish to get                soiled, but admired and handled with love and care. We don’t wish to get replaced in the long run. 😀

(Note: We are passionate travelers though, but would never wish to be used by anyone so. 🙂 )

WPSB: What was the last time you went to a new place?

SP: A place need not be necessarily new;

We could find something new in old places too!

This is what we generally do,

      Explore and discover the new,

And feel delighted to share it with you!

WPSB: If you were or are a writer do you prefer writing short stories, poems or novels, other?  And what type of genre would you prefer?

SP: We know how to write,

      Yes, we are writers;

      Short stories, poems or novels;

We’d like to share our experience,

     In the simplest way possible.

WPSB: Out of your five senses (touch, taste, sight, smell, hearing) which is your favorite?

SP: One is incomplete without the other!

       We see everything around us,

Develop a sense of taste for what we see,

       Bitter, salty, sour or sweet,

      A touch of words make it lively;

We love to hear from you without measure,

The smell of your presence gives us immense pleasure.

WPSB: If 100 people your age were chosen at random, how many do you think you’d find leading a more satisfying life than yours?

SP: Our life is our own,

       Yes, we are satisfied;

       Their journey is unknown,

       Is our answer justified? 🙂

WPSB: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

SP: Oxygen and Carbon dioxide for our survival so that we can exist in WordPress.  🙂

WPSB: Thank you very much Sia Positive. We had a great time trying to dig out the secrets of your fictional world.

SP: Thank you very much WordPress for giving us this opportunity to bring our fictional character into the limelight. 🙂

Sia Positive 2014 in review

Click here to see the complete report.

The WordPress.com stats helper prepared a 2014 annual report for our blog. We extend our gratitude for the wonderful effort taken by WordPress team. 🙂

Here’s an excerpt:

A New York City subway train holds 1,200 people. This blog was viewed about 3,700 times in 2014. If it were a NYC subway train, it would take about 3 trips to carry that many people.

The Countdown: Life with WordPress

“Through this post we also take the opportunity to thank our readers and viewers for their incredible support.”

The Countdown

This post is all about our journey here in WordPress since July 2014 till December this day. The first day (July 14) with WordPress was quite monotonous as we had no idea what to do. But as we moved ahead in this journey, we managed to gather readers and viewers from every nook and corner of this world. And as we approach this New Year, we have high hopes of expanding our contribution to reach as many readers and viewers as possible trying to share our ‘share of life’.

So, let the Countdown to a new beginning start !

10. July 14: THE BABY STEP

The Other Side of the Story:  Our first post. This post tried to compare the rich and poor from a different perspective.

Aww…. 😦

This looks so incomplete; without any picture or tags. No likes or comments either. But that did not de-motivate us. Probably because approval of others was not what we were seeking here.

9. July 16: THE FIRST VISITOR

Finally we were spotted by someone. Thank you Samoan Sword, for sparing the time to read our post. As we are academicians, this was what we thought would be beneficial to the society we are part of. Yes, Value Based Education System, the need of the hour! This post was all about the young learners who must be guided to shape their own mind so that they understand the importance of positive values and apply these values in their journey of life.

But how irresponsible of us! We did not even bother to reply back to this first visitor. We must have been busy customizing our Blog to make it attractive in the simplest way possible, trying to make it clearly visible and legible.

8. July 18: WHERE THERE IS A WILL THERE IS A WAY

Will Power Matters ! Our third post that provided us the limelight.

This post too carries no tags or pictures. It looks so dull ! However, this time we somehow learnt while experimenting with WordPress that we could share our posts in Facebook. And here we are with 45 likes! But none to like in WordPress still. But two of the bloggers did comment on this post. Thanks to Tammi Kale and susieshy45 for visiting our blog.

This was sufficient for us to keep us moving in this new world among strangers. We were enjoying this new experience playing with our own thoughts and feelings and sharing it with the world without the least expectation of being selected to publish our work.

Wonderful! Isn’t this an achievement in itself? Definitely yes! This, kind of boosted our enthusiasm and energy to devote more of our time in expressing how we feel about everything around us, trying to improve as we stepped ahead.

Will Power indeed matters !!

7. July 27: THE TURNING POINT

Something suddenly struck our mind. Being crazy travellers, we had that bulk of photographs with us that could not be utilised so far. And here was the opportunity to portray and share our experiences through our photographs. And there was this turning point! The Call of the Hills– Yes, our next post.

We decided to bring our writing skill and photography together in one platform and make our existence visible and possibly work towards the purpose of our life to spread the message of unity and peace.

And we came up with our first ever ‘wonder post’. We call it a ‘wonder post’ because it looks so lively. Even now as we opened it to include the link, it was so exciting to read our own experiences and bring back those memories back to life! It is an awesome feeling of getting lost in the sweet memories of the past treasures. And what is more incredible is that we could share it with the world! This is amazing! We really did it!

The breathless journey!
The breathless journey!

4 bloggers liked it and 17 likes from our Facebook friends. We believed we were doing great, at least we made ourselves feel so; no harm, isn’t it? And most important we found that magic wand!

6. July 28: THE PUSH AHEAD

Age is just a number: Our first ever entry to the Daily Post! It was short but was indeed a challenge. And it was like we discovered that silver lining in the cloud.

And our journey continues…

We continued posting at a stretch day and night. WordPress was our new love.

And here was the twist! The Daily Post and Weekly Challenges got us in its grip and we started relating our life experiences to the themes these challenges provided. It was a blessing in disguise to come up before the world as an example (good or bad). We did not have any trouble choosing what to post because there were already plenty before us, as if they were prepared to assist us in our endeavor.

Here are some of our posts that would definitely keep your eyes locked to the screen. We have numbered them in ascending order of likes by other bloggers.

5. The Tussle between Venus and Mars

Men and women

Women and Men are both marvelous and inspiring creations of the Unseen Creator. They are different, yet meant to be together. They are opposite, yet they attract each other!

Be a part of this thrilling experience!

4. An Extreme Tale

We made it

A Tale of the Good and the Bad brought together in this post. Find yourself lost in the ups and downs of your own life, trying to lift yourself up in the ladder of life as you scroll through the post.

3. Taste the Lemons

lemons

Find out what we do when life gives us lemons. No, we never make lemonade. 🙂

2. Way of Life

Scroll though some of our photographs that have something to say about the way of life!

1. Humanity- The Connection  The most loved post of our blog!

The Connection

We have created some of the wonderful memories of our life with WordPress- our readers and viewers! What more could we preserve from our life in 2014 than these memories and the pleasurable and marvelous conversations with strangers from all over the world. An achievement indeed ! 🙂

Virtual is Real !

Grateful and Guilty

IMG_0848

Here is a short Gratitude Note we have written for Technology. For us, TECHNOLOGY is the guiltiest guilty pleasure. We have tried to express our guiltiest guilty pleasure in the note. Hope you enjoy it.

Dear Technology,

It has been a decade since you trespassed our simple and happy territory. Crawling all the way from the 19th century you finally established your roots in our sweet little world. You captured our hearts by assisting us in gathering the known lost hearts and souls and incidentally landing us in the unknown world of  addiction. We are happy to have you with us for making our lives easier, faster, more effective and efficient. You have intelligently supported us in covering our laziness.

Technology, we must admit that you have been a great stress reliever. We appreciate the ample amount of time you spend with us, hardly allowing us to feel the absence of our near and dear ones and gradually stealing those emotions from us. You have showed us the way to kill those soft corners in our hearts. Your presence made us strong and practical.

We are also grateful for your 2G, 3G and many other creepy connections. Though irritating and time consuming, they have taught us the power of patience. Thank you for embracing us and guiding us to the world of solitude- a place full of wonder where virtual is real.

Thank you for being with us whenever we needed you. You deserve to be loved! 🙂

Yours Faithfully,

Addictive Users

WordPress Daily Prompt came up with a Voice WorkYour blog is about to be recorded into an audio-book. If you could choose anyone — from your grandma to Samuel L. Jackson — to narrate your posts, who would it be?

We paused for a moment, and this is what we came up with. Read on to find out our narrator!

Audio-book of our blog will call for that “accurate inflection” to draw the attention and attract the diverse listeners from around the globe. Perception differs. Our blog is one where our intuitions meet words and our adventure meets the photographs. We love to read and re-read our posts. We love to get lost in our photographs. We love to take that ride through our blog anywhere and anytime. As the saying goes, “Love yourself, and the world will love you”. We love our blog!

Actors on stage give their best performance when they get involved and get lost in their act. So, if there is anyone who can narrate our posts with the accurate degree of emotions and feelings that the posts carry, it would be none other than “WE”. We would record our posts into an audio-book and listen to them with sheer enthusiasm every time we wish to relive our thoughts and expressions.

However, more than an audio-book, we would rather prefer a video or a slide show of our blog. “What did Sia Positive just say?” “Was it Dream or Cream?” “The post on Incredible Journey was indeed incredible. But we missed those adventurous photographs.”

Dear WordPress, without further delay, help us make a video of our blog. We do not want to disappoint our listeners. 🙂

ROBWOP – The WordPress Robot!

Robwop

WordPress says: Congrats — you’ve been handed a robot whose sole job is to relieve you of one chore, job, or responsibility you particularly hate. What is it?

Since we started off on a journey into this new world called WordPress, everything seemed to be sunny and bright, except one. The only job we hate is just scrolling down the posts in haste when we have other chores awaiting us. We hate missing out those Daily Prompts, Daily challenges, the reflections, and the hidden words of different souls, those unbelievable journeys, the optimism, the pessimism, the positive, the negative and million other opinions, enthusiastically waiting to be embraced by the million viewers.

It was only yesterday we disclosed about our relationship with WordPress, (You Know You Make Me Wanna) and today we are here again to unfurl the hidden, ‘speechless passionate feelings’ for this blooming love. Yes, WordPress is the new love in our life.

Our journey with WordPress has been an incredible journey so far. But we have also felt the pain of bouncing over many of those wonderful posts, hoping to catch them up later. Oh! We have seen them look back at us with moist eyes as they are scrolled down the page. We have felt the pain of missing out ‘the feel’ of the hidden messages behind every photograph shared. We have felt the pain of disconnecting with WordPress every time we are reminded of our daily chores and responsibilities.

WordPress is our addiction. Yes, it is a sweet poison that kills time, the wine that leaves us unconscious and unaware of all the happenings in our surrounding environment. It keeps us engrossed in the garden of words that spreads the fragrance of knowledge, feelings and emotions.

We were in great need of an assistant that could help us in reading those entire intellectual, strange, funny, informative posts; prose and poetry; and someone who could take us to the lost world of those awesome photographs, wherever we are.

What a wonder! WordPress heard our prayer and showered on us this wonderful gift without delay. It is a Robot!

Now that we possess a Robot, we will never fail to see and read anything that pass by. Wherever we go ROBWOP (yes, this is the name of our Robot) would accompany us. We can now keep track of those million ‘speechless expressions’ from every nook and corner of the globe waiting to be heard, read, explored and felt. We can now continue with a conversation with any blogger anywhere, anytime, anyplace uninterrupted and ROBWOP would just type them down in less than a nanosecond!

And yes, our ROBWOP has a 10G internet facility for uninterrupted connectivity! Phew! What a relief!

Thank You WordPress for this wonderful gift!

Daily Prompt- You, Robot

You Know You Make Me Wanna

Dedicated to WordPress

To start it off, I know you know me

It was only last month
That I had a dream about us.

That’s why I am here, I’m writing this song.
To tell the truth you know I have been waiting all along;
Someway let me know you want me WordPress.

Everytime you see me what do you see?
I feel like I’m a blogger and you’re the logger.
Oh WordPress, you’re the only thing that I really need.

You make me wanna write in the middle of the night.
You make me wanna write till the morning light.
You make me wanna think, you make me wanna ink.
You make me wanna surrender my link.

I know this is a feeling that I just can’t fight.
You’re the first and last thing on my mind.
You make me wanna think, you make me wanna ink.
You make me wanna surrender my link.

Well I know that these feelings won’t end
They’ll just get stronger if I see you again.
WordPress I’m tired of being friends.
I wanna know if you feel the same
And could you tell me do you feel my pain?
Don’t leave me in doubt.

The Daily Post Challenge: Opening Lines

What’s the first line of the last song you listened to (on the radio, on your music player, or anywhere else)? Use it as the first sentence of your post.

(“You know you make me wanna” is a song by BLUE. The first line of the song goes: “You know you make me wanna”. The skeleton (song) is the same; only some bones (words) are replaced). Enjoy WordPress! You deserve it! 😉

From Pangaea to Laurasia then Eurasia and Back!

A photo that tells us what ‘FRAY’ means. We could not find any better example to explain this word!

Our planet Earth
Our planet Earth in motion since ages

The animation above is an example to show what the word ‘FRAY’ means to us. We have presented a small description of how our Earth faced her wear and tear, and which even now is on the move, and how it is expected to unravel. If the story interests you, you can visit the links provided along with.

Pangaea or Pangea was a supercontinent that existed during the late Paleozoic and early Mesozoic eras. It formed approximately 300 million years ago and then began to break apart after about 100 million years. Pangaea was the first reconstructed supercontinent and its global ocean was accordingly named Panthalassa.

Pangaea
The blue Ocean surrounding Pangaea is Panthalassa

Panthalassa, also known as the Panthalassic Ocean, was the vast global ocean that surrounded the supercontinent Pangaea, during the late Paleozoic and the early Mesozoic eras. It included the Pacific Ocean to the west and north and the Tethys to the southeast. It became the Pacific Ocean, following the closing of the Tethys basin and the breakup of Pangaea, which created the Atlantic, Arctic, and Indian Ocean basins. The Panthalassic is often called the Paleo-Pacific (“old Pacific”) because the Pacific Ocean developed from it in the Mesozoic to the Present.

There were three major phases in the break-up of Pangaea. The first phase began in the Early-Middle Jurassic (about 175 Ma), when Pangaea began to rift from the Tethys Ocean in the east to the Pacific in the west, ultimately giving rise to the supercontinents Laurasia and Gondwana. The rifting that took place between North America and Africa produced multiple failed rifts. One rift resulted in a new ocean, the North Atlantic Ocean.

The second major phase in the break-up of Pangaea began in the Early Cretaceous (150–140 Ma), when the minor supercontinent of Gondwana separated into multiple continents (Africa, South America, India, Antarctica, and Australia). About 200 Ma, the continent of Cimmeria, as mentioned above (see “Formation of Pangaea”), collided with Eurasia. However, a subduction zone was forming, as soon as Cimmeria collided.

The third major and final phase of the break-up of Pangaea occurred in the early Cenozoic (Paleocene to Oligocene). Laurasia split when North America/Greenland (also called Laurentia) broke free from Eurasia, opening the Norwegian Sea about 60–55 Ma. The Atlantic and Indian Oceans continued to expand, closing the Tethys Ocean.

Eurasia is the combined continental landmass of Europe and Asia, with the term being a portmanteau of its two constituents. Located primarily in the Northern and Eastern Hemispheres, it is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean on the west, the Pacific Ocean to the east, the Arctic Ocean on the north, and by Africa, the Mediterranean Sea, the Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean to the south. The division between Europe and Asia as two different continents is a historical and cultural construct, with no clear physical separation between them; thus, in some parts of the world, Eurasia is recognized as the largest of five or six continents.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eurasia

Pangaea Ultima (also called Pangaea ProximaNeopangaea, and Pangaea II) is a possible future supercontinent configuration. Consistent with the supercontinent cycle, Pangaea Ultima could occur within the next 250 million years. This potential configuration, hypothesized by Christopher Scotese, earned its name from its similarity to the previous Pangaea supercontinent. The concept was based on examination of past cycles of formation and breakup of supercontinents, not on current understanding of the mechanisms of tectonic change, which are too imprecise to project that far into the future. “It’s all pretty much fantasy to start with”, Scotese has said. “But it’s a fun exercise to think about what might happen. And you can only do it if you have a really clear idea of why things happen in the first place.”

Supercontinents describe the merger of all, or nearly all, of the Earth’s landmass into a single contiguous continent. In the Pangaea Ultima scenario, subduction at the western Atlantic, east of the Americas, leads to the subduction of the Atlantic mid-ocean ridge followed by subduction destroying the Atlantic and Indian basin, causing the Atlantic and Indian Oceans to close, bringing the Americas back together with Africa and Europe. As with most supercontinents, the interior of Pangaea Proxima would probably become a semi-arid desert prone to extreme temperatures.

Thanks to WordPress (the technology in disguise) for taking these small leaps ahead in unraveling the world population back to one platform! High-Five!

The Incredible Journey with WordPress!

The Incredible Journey
The Incredible Journey

It was just last month (July 2014) that we began our journey with WordPress. And so far we have had a wonderful journey and we will definitely keep taking wonderful rides with our fellow bloggers. The ride through the depths of nature, through the intense feelings of happiness and sorrow of fellow bloggers, through the ups and downs we faced here, learning how to operate the many features of WordPress, all were marvellous and exciting. We initiated and WordPress kept us moving! We are just like the thin line of road visible in huge mountains. The mountain is the vast world and the thin line represent the niche we have struggled to create for ourselves in this world.

Thank You ‘The Daily Post’ for the innumerable fascinating, out of the box topics on ‘Daily Prompts’ http://dailypost.wordpress.com/dp_prompt/ and the untiring efforts of the whole team to help us develop our writing skill. Though we missed out many, we particularly enjoyed scratching our head on some of them. It was difficult because we felt they were not mere topics but ‘topics with a difference’!

We started our journey with ‘The Daily Post’ with ‘Back to Life’, https://siapositive.wordpress.com/2014/07/30/back-to-life/.

The most recent one ‘A Bookish Choice’ https://siapositive.wordpress.com/2014/08/12/no-thank-you-literary-witch/ was the best one so far, where we discovered some hidden aspects that we, as writers,  need to reflect on certain issues instead of plainly jotting down words here and there.

‘Second Opinion’ https://siapositive.wordpress.com/2014/08/10/no-second-opinion/ also helped us bring out to the limelight, the ‘Real We’. It was a remarkable post to discover some truths about us (the human soul).

Not to forget, ‘Not Lemonade’ https://siapositive.wordpress.com/2014/08/09/taste-the-lemons/ was just right to put forward our perspective towards life!

WordPress is a great place to learn and meet new people with varied background and thought process. It is a tremendous platform to keep wandering around trying to look for the ultimate truth of our existence. We have tried to make our expressions just simple and excellent (Perfection is God’s business) to reach out to millions who look forward to new dimensions to lead a fruitful life.

We write for self satisfaction. Writing is our passion. We write to capture our memorable thoughts and crazy ideas passing by our mind. We write because we feel the emotions. We indeed look for appreciation because we are humans and we are here because the world exists. The white star with orange background do excite us just like any of our fellow bloggers! But even if not appreciated we tend to write more with extended zest and zeal. Because this is what keeps us moving! And WordPress never disappoints its audience.

We take this opportunity to thank WordPress for this wonderful and persistent effort to help us express and share our thoughts and reach out to millions of diverse and unique audience. We take this opportunity to thank all our readers and visitors. If you have enjoyed the ride with us so far, it is our honour. We have as much enjoyed the ride with you, your unique ways of presentations, your unique pictures and your unique perspectives.

And for those who have not enjoyed the ride with us, we take it as a challenge! There can not be everything about someone that we do not like. There can not be everything about everyone that we like. But there are certain things about all that we may like. So thank you all! 🙂

It has been an incredible journey.
